Who we are

The social cooperative Il Seme is an occupational-oriented business especially focused on the employment and social integration of disadvantaged people.

At present, it does not only deal with disability but also with other fragile situations.

For three years now, Il Seme has been implementing two projects aimed at social cohesion and characterised by the agricultural element in Como (“Oggi parte il domani”, “Tomorrow starts today” project) and in the southern Como area (“Orto del sole”, “Sun vegetable garden” project).

Activities

The cooperative works in the field of civil and industrial cleaning services, management of ecological structures, social agriculture, working and company welfare services. In particular, in the farming field it plans and builds gardens and irrigation systems, manages green areas, produces and sells organic fruits and vegetables, supports urban, school and therapeutical vegetable gardens, so that the earth can become a source of learning and vitality.

As far as the educational sector is concerned, Il Seme plans and implements individualised internships which are shared with the local companies that, in different ways, deal with fragile and weak subjects.

It also organises rehab workshops for school children and teens, workshops that also become an opportunity for the young and the elderly to meet as well as a way of learning about plants and the respect of the environment.
